Moe’s Original BBQ was founded by three Bama boys: Mike Fernandez from Tuscaloosa, Ben Gilbert from Athens, and Jeff Kennedy from Huntsville. After meeting at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, they instantly became friends and had a mutual interest in all things Southern: BBQ, blues, college football, and whisky.
In 1988, Mike hooked up with Moses Day in Tuscaloosa and began learning to fire roast meats. When Moses fired up his backyard barrel pit, everyone in T-Town knew where to go. The boys were lucky to learn from Moses and his distinct style makes up Moe’s original flavor of BBQ. Moe’s Original BBQ smokes all meats fresh daily. Unlike other BBQ joints, they don't stop there. They prepare eight to ten Southern style side dishes and desserts everyday with recipes passed down for generations.

Located in the heart of Foley by the outlets, sports complex, and Coastal Alabama farmers and fisherman's market, this restaurant is in middle of all growth going on in the area. Guests can expect a menu full of our famous Alabama-style hand pulled pork, smoked chicken wings, turkey, fried shrimp and catfish, Memphis-style dry rubbed ribs and more, not to mention the favorite southern sides made from scratch daily. Providing a true farm to table experience, the location provides access to the freshest produce and seafood around. The design features re-purposed materials including reclaimed barn wood and rusted tin giving a rustic look that makes the spot feel like it has been there forever. While this BBQ joint is family friendly, there is also a full bar complete with bushwackers, Alabama beers and more for locals and tourists to enjoy!
